By booking a dive, course, trip, private charter, or event offered by Bucket List Diver, all students, divers, and passengers accept and acknowledge the following terms and conditions of sale:
1. General Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
All sales are definitive. No refunds will be offered unless specified below.
-
+12% Trip Protection (Highly Recommended for Individual Tickets & Courses)
Adding Trip Protection allows you to either cancel or reschedule your standard tour or course up to 24 hours prior to departure. Up to one time. You will be reimbursed for the full amount of each ticket, less the cost of trip protection and processing fees. For PADI courses, the e-learning materials fee of $113 is non-refundable if they have already been redeemed or activated.
Please note: Trip Protection is not applicable to Private Boat Charters or Travel Trips. -
Standard Rescheduling (For Bookings Without Trip Protection) A standard booking (course or trip) can only be rescheduled once, under the following fee structure:
-
15+ Days Prior: Free rescheduling.
-
8 to 14 Days Prior: 30% rebooking fee applies (based on the total amount paid).
-
7 Days or Less: 75% rebooking fee applies.
-
2. Private Charters & Travel Trips
Due to the significant resources required for private charters and dedicated travel trips, the following strict conditions apply:
-
Deposits are non-refundable.
-
A 100% cancellation fee applies with 2 months (60 days) or less notice.
-
Bucket List Diver will plan to adhere to the advertised itinerary but reserves the right to alter the proposed itinerary or cancel the trip in the event of extreme weather conditions or at the discretion of the Master of the Vessel. Bookings are accepted on the understanding that Bucket List Diver is not financially responsible for a delay in departure due to adverse weather.
-
Trip cancellation and travel insurance are highly recommended. Consider evacuation insurance when traveling to remote locations.
3. Health, Medical & Course Requirements
-
Medical Disclosures: All medical, health, or wellness matters must be reported to the captain, instructor, or divemaster at least two weeks in advance. Unforeseeable issues arising on the day must be reported prior to the activity commencing (and by phone if the condition is potentially transmissible).
-
PADI Dive Medical: For all courses, a valid PADI Dive Medical (within 12 months) must be completed at least two weeks before the first day of the course. No refunds will be possible for a failed medical, or a failure to see a doctor in time, within 2 weeks of the beginning of the course.
-
Medical Cancellations (For Bookings Without Trip Protection): If you did not purchase Trip Protection and a medical condition prevents you from diving, a medical certificate is required to rebook. Cancellations and refunds are only offered if the medical certificate is provided 15 days before the course begins. Inside of 15 days, standard rescheduling fees apply.
-
Swim Tests: If you cannot pass the mandatory swim tests for your course, there will be no refunds.
-
E-Learning: If the online course or medical has not been completed at the start of the course, we will not be able to complete practical training. The course will have to be fully rebooked minus the PADI certification cost.
-
Certification Requirements & Skill Mastery: Earning a PADI certification requires the successful completion of all PADI performance requirements. Students must demonstrate both the physical capacity and the confidence to safely perform each skill. If a student is unable to master a required skill, or fails to meet the safety standards during the course, we cannot issue the certification. No refunds will be provided in the event of an incomplete or failed certification.
-
Minors and Guardianship: Participants under the age of 18 must have all waivers and medical forms signed by a parent or legal guardian. Depending on the activity, minors may require a parent or legal guardian to be present on the vessel or during the course.
-
Health Directives: Customers must follow local health directives and restrictions if they are made.
4. On-the-Day Dive & Boat Policy
-
Arrival Time: Please be present a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the departure time to check, set, and prepare your dive gear. The Captain reserves the right to leave without you if you are not present on time.
-
Right to Refuse Service: The Master of the Vessel, Instructors, and crew reserve the right to refuse service or remove a passenger for unsafe, disruptive, or aggressive behavior, or refusal to follow safety briefings. No refunds will be issued in these circumstances.
-
Substances: The student/passenger cannot take part in any water activity under the effect of alcohol or drugs.
-
Flying After Diving: Be aware to allow a minimum of 24 hours between your last dive and a flight.
-
Certification Proof: Evidence of certification/experience to safely participate in diving activities must be provided on the day. Failure by the customer to produce this may result in denial of participation without refund if suitable staffing resources are un-available to accommodate the customer’s needs. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide details of their certification/experience prior to booking, to avoid disappointment at the refusal of service on the day.
-
Diver Responsibility: Certified divers are responsible for their own safety and must follow the Common Rules and Standard Safe Diving Practices.
-
Vessel Rules: Cray fishing and fishing are not permitted aboard our vessel.
5. Equipment Liability & Personal Belongings
-
Rental Gear: Take proper care of the rental equipment. The replacement cost of lost or damaged equipment rented to you will be fully passed on to you, new for old.
-
Damage Liability: You are liable for any damage caused by you or your equipment to the boat, the equipment, any passengers, and passenger’s equipment or belongings.
-
Personal Belongings: Bucket List Diver is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings (including smartphones, cameras, and personal dive computers) brought onto the vessel, left at the retail store, or left in vehicles at the departure point.
6. Weather, Minimum Numbers, & Operator Cancellations
-
Safety & Operational Cancellations: For customer safety and operational viability, Bucket List Diver reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course, trip, or charter. This includes cancellations due to unsafe forecast or actual weather, failing to meet minimum passenger numbers (which are 4 participants for a course and 6 participants for a standard boat trip), sudden instructor or crew illness, vessel maintenance, or any other unforeseen operational limitations.
-
Remedy for Operator Cancellations: If Bucket List Diver must cancel or reschedule an activity for any of the reasons listed above, a cash refund will strictly not be issued. Instead, affected customers will be issued a 100% free reschedule to a future available date or a digital gift card for the full value of their booking.
7. Media & Photography Release
