Happy Birthday to us…BLD turns 3

a small boat in a large body of water

Wow how time flys!

Three years ago, Kate and Antoni decided to create our own Dive Business. After working in the dive industry for 5 years in numerous countries, it was time to start something new ourselves and be in charge of what we wanted to do. Starting your own Business is always nerve wracking and with all the support we received from early stages, it made our life easier as we grew from nothing to something we are proud of.

Where did the name come from?

We have travelled in so many countries now and Bucket List Diver seemed appropriate. All Scuba Divers and Travellers have a Bucket List about where they want to go and what they want to see. We are at a stage now in our business where we can take our fellow divers to various places and tick experiences off there Bucket List which is exciting. Not to mention local dives like shark cave and seeing weedy sea dragons at sand tracks beach in Fremantle.

How did we start?

We started small. Just 4 sets of dive gear, teaching Open Water Courses, Introduction dives and leading fun dives. For us, diving is a passion and getting out in the water as much as possible for us is what its all about. Shortly after starting BLD, we decided to use MoonshineII and charter it for our trips to Rottnest Island. It was owned by a lovely skipper John and we loved being out on her so much that in November 2018 we bought her, introducing her to the family.

Whats next?

The last 3 years have flown by and we feel like its been a successful few years of business. With 2 new Divemasters Mel and Hayley on-board to help us out over the busy season we are excited for what the future holds.

Next years dive trips are already announced and big things to get ticked off the Bucket List. Snorkel with Whales in Cairns in July or enjoy some world class diving in Raja Ampat
